I am in the process of officially starting a Non Profit and getting ready to Incorporate- I have been at this for ten years and wanted to start it when I was 16- but couldnt.
I have even copyrighted the images, the name, etc. I am creating it to further my work with terminally ill children in the hospital and at risk children.
One of my contacts was telling me that I need "several thousand dollars" and better be prepared to pay up to the state. I live in NY- I dont know what they are talking about and neither does anyone else- and this person is a paralegal. Should I be prepared for financial surprises of some sort? My Organization is similar to the Starlight, Starbright Foundation bringing quality of life services to terminally ill, children and their siblings.
I am using my own, out of pocket money and some seed money of course.
Any advice would be great! I want to finalize and get started.
