Need advice: 1993 Jeep Cherokee Sport - Vandelized?

A friend’s 93` Jeep Cherokee Sport was vandalized & need some advice. Is car worth repairing? Repairs we can do to min. $ to shop. Vandals took PB & jelly, toothpaste, choc. syrup and smeared it on car, removed gas cap filling with “?” and peanut butter. Not sure what made it into tank. Having to work she called her Dad to look at Jeep. Later I called offering a ride to work in the AM. She said no, her Dad fixed the car, cleaning it out & adding fuel cleaner. Questioning the decision for a sec then thought her Dad works on car’s & knows not to drive and chance further damage? Next day, started making noises & would not accelerate, she took it to shop. The estimate is $1k to remove tank, clean & replace fuel pump. Could be add’l chrgs if other issues are found. Need any info advice or exper. on issue to help make informed decision. Other potential issues/problems? Will entire system/lines need replacement? Tests/repairs we can do?
