First of all, I don't know if I really need 3G - I live in Malibu, California - don't believe theres going to be 3G here anytime in the next year or two... anyone know? I don't travel around much, at least not in any areas that I know have 3G.

I do need a camera, I already have a SE S710a, so I would want a better camera than that if possible.

I need a high resolution screen, I do a lot of web browsing and such.

I really want Wi-Fi.

Finally, I would really prefer a QWERTY keyboard, not a necessity but something like the E70 is perfect (but not coming out for a while)..

I am looking at the N80 as being the phone for me, but it doesn't have a QWERTY keyboard..

Oh, and I do not need any business features - Microsoft Office support is cool though. But no need for blackberry connectivity, etc.

off the bat, you do not have 3G. At best you have EDGE, and you will never see European 3G in your area. Cingular might roll out its version of 3G sometime in the middle of next year. The closest you will get will be hopping on Verizon or Sprint and their EV-DO network. So, yeah .. phones with EDGE are your friends

Well, the only phones that are Symbian that have keyboards are the 682x series (6820, 6822, etc), the 9300(i), and the 9500. Going off just that, the only one of those with wifi are the 9300i and the 9500. The 9300i hasn't hit major distribution yet, and will probably not do so for at least another month or so. The 9500 is larger than the 9300i (and subsequently every other phone nokia has on their current page ) but has EDGE, Wi-Fi, qwerty, and symbian. The camea is worse than the SE though.

Other than the 9300i and 9500 no other symbian phone (as of now) has wifi. The E series will have wifi, the N80, n91, and n92 will all have wifi. All of these phones are at least 3 - 9 months down the line.

Of symbian phones out NOW. Your best combination might be a 9500. It's big, the camera isn't that great, but it covers every other base you have listed. If you can break from Symbian you can get an Imate K-jam and cover all your bases period. It will require a swith to windows mobile (and I heavily advise reading up in those forums about the slowness / configuration issues many people have with this phone).

If you are not editing Office documents or doing a ton of email, you can get by without a qwerty. It seems nice and all, but T9 is fine for the short stuff and will save you money in the end.

hmm.. yah i dont really need a keyboard. it would be nice for AIM, SMS, web browsing, etc. but wait, the n80 isnt out for at least 3 months from now? i thought its a month away or so?

I think you would be best served by waiting a couple of months.

By April time, you should have a good selection of WiFi-enabled devices to choose from, including N80, E61 and E70.

Wirelessly posted (Nokia 6270: Nokia6682/2.0 (3.01.1) SymbianOS/8.0 Series60/2.6 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

Besides the 68xx series is actually s40

The n80 is slated to come out 1Q of 2006. 1Q ends in March. I honestly see it being pushed back until second quarter sometime but I don't have any official press release. Just with nokia, its not a good idea to hold your breath.
