need a great thesis statement about gays in the military?

I am writing an argumentative paper about gays in the miltiary. I beleive a person's sexual prefence should have no justification on being a determining factor of a persons patriotism.

This same point was argued when they desegregated african american's under Truman's executive order back in the 40's.

Any one or two sentence statement is greatley appreciated.
