Need a cool, performance based, inexpensive car to modify. but needs to be rwd or awd.?

I have under 20k for a cool performance car that I can modify. It needs to be rwd or awd but no fwd because in my opinion those dont handle like the others. im on a 20k budget for the car and sorta want one that i can take to class, as well as to friends parties and still look cool...
 
look at them old Nissan rear-wheels like the Silvia, SX and Z. you can also check out older generations of the Evo and STI. RX-7 or RX-8 are also good, and the king of all the Japanese sports cars, the Nissan GT-R aka Godzilla. just a little info: ever heard of the Jap-spec Mugen Civic RR? watch out for vids of it in YouTube, it can beat a 350Z and other cars, and the standard JDM Civic Type R even beat the Honda S2000 around Honda's Suzuka Racing Circuit. I'm not trying to sway you to the front-wheel drives, but I just want you to have a little more knowledge about them and what they can do, and then you can decide if you don't like them.
