Need a bit of encouragement to continue learning programming...?

I see it as a bit too much trouble and a waste of time, as all that I have learned is to make something appear in a box... and thats it...
What else can be programmed without too much hastle and time? I'm starting to get really bored with programming...?
Any encouragement will be much appreciated.
