Need a bicycle serviced...?

Hi Guys
I am giving a bicycle away, quite an old one... Its a raleigh esprit and was looking to have it serviced before hand just to make sure the gears etc are all good. Does anyone know who would do this in the glasgow area, tried to call halfords but no answer.

Your local small cycle shop usually has a repair service look in your yellow pages.
