Neck Stiffness

Pure Awsomeness

Hi everyone. I'm not sure where this goes, so I'll post it here. Basically I'm a 25 yo male, who is pretty healthy. Anyway, about two days ago I had a slight fever (never got above 100.5) and leg aches. That only lasted about a day, and then when I woke up yesterday, my fever and aches were completely gone, but my neck was incredibly stiff. I first worried that it could be something like meningitis, but I'm pretty sure I had the vaccine before my freshman year of college. Plus the fact that I no longer have the fever, and have no other symptoms other than the stiff neck really. Today it still feels kinda stiff and I can feel it almost like crackle up behind my ears if I move it in certain directions. I'm able to get the full range of motion, but it feels very stiff, mostly up by the base of my skull. Should I get this checked out, or just take care of myself for a little and see what happens? Any one else have any similar issues?

My neck has gotten better throughout the day today, though it still feels stiff, not so much when moving it back and forth but more from side to side. I did call my local urgent care place (my family doc isn't open fridays) and they said it's probably nothing serious if all I really have is a stiff neck, and the fever I had two days ago before all of this probably is unrelated, and especially since it wasn't really high. I guess I'm still kind of worried about it though. Advil seems to help a lot, but I don't know if that might be masking some of it or not. I've been reading horror stories about meningitis and how all of a sudden people get it. Like I said before, I think I was immunized before college, but I can't remember. Is it possible that I'm just worrying too much?

I would still call your regular dr on monday and let them advise you. Could be nothing or something, never know. I would rather be safe. Any other symptoms?
