near blind friend needs a cell phone, any suggestions?

I have a friend that has diabetes and as a complication has now lost her sight. She needs a phone that she can use that will be easy to dial out and answer and what not. I know that there is software for nokia series 60 phones that will give voice recognition on all operations...does anyone one have any other ideas? has to be GSM

I know that people on this site really know there cell phones, so I am asking for help...does anyone have any suggestions?

I wouldn't recommend a series 60 phone for someone who is nearly blind, there are too many keys on the face.

I'd recommend something simple, like a nokia 6010, where she can feel the keypad and know what she's dialing and if she ever ends up in a menu, all she has to do is hit the end key.

She could also go with a basic candybar phone with voice dialing if that'd be easier, but someone would have to program it for her
