I've been in the Navy for a year now (6 year program), and I've been doing extensive research on the admissions process for good universities. From what I've gathered, if you were to go to a community college first, your GPA would have to be perfect. This won't be a problem. Second, my SAT/ACT scores would have to be stellar. I'm almost pushing 2100 on my SAT as it stands right now, and I'm going to try to bump that up 50-100 points.

Now, the real question is...what kind of community service events could I do in the military that would look great on my application? I've read time and time again that it's better to show deep involvement in a couple community service projects than to dip your feet in dozens of them. Are there any opportunities I'll have to lead some projects in the military?

If you all have any further advice on ways to beef up my application while I'm in, please let me know. Thank you!
