i want to join either the navy or Air Force for electronic engineering what would you prefer would be better and would I stay on the base working on electronics if i was in the Air Force

If you join the Navy you get more college hours, and a degree that the outside world will actually recognize. I don't like the idea of ships and cramped quarters, but they have damn good training.

Go into the Air Force. They'll train you better. Plus, check out the The Airman Education and Commissioning Program (AECP), that the Air Force has to offer. To sum it up for you, you'll go through boot and your schooling. You'll apply for the AECP program and they'll send you home for up to 3 years and pay for you to get your BA degree in Electrical Engineering. When you have your degree you come back in as a Second Lieutenant (O1). Note that the time it takes you get get your BA doesn't count for your time in, but you'll still receive full pay and benefits. Come back in as an officer and your experience in will be a lot better.
