I am thinking about joining the Navy, i got a 54 on my asvab and my recruiter said my "line scores" are good enough to get me the rate "aviation mechanic" (am, ame, ad, ao etc...)and the aircrew program (which is what i want)...is this true or will i be scrapping paint for 4 years? i heard anything above a 50 is "upper mental group"?
also does the Navy use the cat 1,2,3,4 system still? if so what would my score label me as?
I understand ill have to work my way up as a newbie but i want to make sure i will be "Air-crewman" and be able to fly around in helicopters and/or airplanes?
