Hi Ive suffered with GAD for some 8 years now... I tried the doctors Antidepresants but to be honest they made me so ill I couldnt keep them down. So I decided to go down the natural route..
Ther are many different things you can do in everyday life to help with anxiety. I found that my brain was very intolerant to caffine of any kind and saw a marked improvment after a few weeks of removing it from my diet. Also alcohol and smoking should be removed is poss as both are bad news for anxiety.
As far as St johns wort. Ive use it for 3 years with great sucess. It is by no means a cure, but it does take the edge off and helps you get a grip in hard times, it also helps greatly with depression . I noticed once I started talking it that I didnt get the huge downs that would result after a bad bout, and also it was much easier to pull myself up afterwarRAB too. One thing I would say though is to check with your doctor first if you are talking any meRAB, and if your on the pill then you cant take it. Also dont buy the cheap stuff, but from a quality sourse with a good reputation as there is some rubbish out there. I had no side effects what so ever with it and also found it had huge anti viral properties too, blocking outbreaks of colRABores and colRAB and flu like nothing else ive taken. Its easy to get hold off and realtivle cheap too. So lots of pluses.
Ive also tried Seryden. There was huge hype about it when it came out. It is very expensive so I wouldnt recomend talking it daily, but it is very usefull if your having a particually bad period. Again I had no side effects though it does make you a little drowsy.
Im just about to try HTTp5. Again this has a great write up and is also usefull for people like myself who suffer with SAD, it seems my bad bouts are always in the winter time, and her in the UK lack of light is a huge issue from Oct to March.
Hope this helps x
