Im going to be attending uncPembrokee 2nd semester and im mixed with african american(black) and native american(cherokee & Iroquois) heritage im 1/12 native american should i try and get a native american scholarship. Relationship on my fathers side of the family (Browns) my great great grandma is full blood cherokee making me 1/16 cherokee and on my moms (Jones) side my great grandma is full blood Iroquois native american making me 1/8......1/16+1/8=2/24 which equals 1/12 for me im not sure but my dads side of my family said that two of my great grandfathers married native american women and had children with them (my grandparents and aunts and uncles). I know to qualify u have to at least have 1/16 blood and i no at the least i have 1/12th. im not sure if they are registered on the dawes or bakers roll? on my moms side they are from Tennessee and the native american records were burned in a fire what should i do?!!!!????!!!!?
