Nationwide data roaming

I asked this question in another thread but never got an answer so I'm trying again. Does anyone know if nationwide data roaming is still limited to BlackBerry and Android hanRABets? I was looking at the broadband coverage map on the Cricket website and it says "Extended coverage for data features for all phones" under Partner Data Coverage.

I was out of town yesterday and my phone was on 1x but the data still worked just fine. I'm on the regular $45 plan with nationwide coverage.
