i know that they are more of a distribution company nowadays, but i still do think if you see a film that is "National Lampoon's presents .." you have a certain expectation of what the film will be like, and invariably you're utterly wrong.
I watched a film earlier called "National Lampoon's presents 'The beach party at the threshold of hell'".
it was basically an ultra low budget black comedy about .. well .. i don't really know. it was bloody awful.
but it wasn't funny either (in my humble opinion) - and you kind of expect a decent comedy when it has the National Lampoon's label attached to it.
but then I saw another N.L. a few years ago called "Adam and Eve" which i really liked because it was a nice little comedy about a college girl who wanted to remain a virgin until she was married - cheesy premise i know, but i really liked it. great soundtrack, reasonably funny and satisfying ending.
But still nothing you'd really associate with National Lampoons.
But anyway .. that's my rant over
