National Guard/ARMY National Guard - are they the same organization?

Are there different branches of the National Guard or is it all one organization?

The Army National Guard is set up and trained to the same standard used by the active Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserve. The catch is each state has its own headquarters coordinating units within its state/territory so in a way there are 54 little branches of the Guard.
