National fish and wildlife dept say it was fireworks that killed birds in ARK?

In the early part of the 2000;s I lived in an area of New York State that had 100,000's of blackbirds in our city. Fish and wild life would come down at night and fire flash bangs at them to kind of shoo them away.

My question is. Why didn't they drop dead too.
What about world wide bird and fish deaths?
What about the time line, this all happened within days all over the world.
