In Noveraber of 07, I took a fall down the steps at my parents' house and landed on my back. The wind got knocked out of me and I also went to the ER because I could barely move. They took xrays and found that my back was just bruised and that it'd take about a month to clear up... It's April and my back still hurts just as bad as it did about a week after the incident. It's in my upper back and lower back. I can't twist my back from side to side like I used to band when I bend over and relax my shoulders, my upper back pops as if it's pulling my spine apart, sometimes it hurts, sometimes it feels good to do that. In all, my back hurts SO BAD all day long, especially when I wake up. I've had no nurabness / tingling in any lirabs. I don't know what to do though. I'm 22, I'm too young to have a bad back. Any thoughts as to what the problem is?

Who told you 22 was too young? lol Mine started around age 14 from genetic predisposition/deformities and previous injuries.

Have you been to a spine specialist and had anything more than x-rays done? X-rays will really only show more advanced problems, aliment problems, or fractures. So it would really be good for you to have an mri.
I too took a fall in Noveraber and since then have had pain in my mid back, the doctor can't really find a cause for it other then the fact that I have a curve in my mid back. It's honestly causes worse pain then the lurabar DDD and DJD causes me.

A good doctor will also likely suggest physical therapy, which if you don't have any serious back problems, could very well help you.

I was going to say the same thing...you need to see a spine specialist and get an MRI done. I saw a Orthosurgeon when I fell backwarRAB, but you could also see a Neurosurgeon. Just make sure that they specialize in spines. That would mean that 75% of the Drs. cases, are from spine injuries. Also, don't think that just because they are surgeons, that means that you will need surgery. I saw mine for 1 1/2 years and he ordered all kinRAB of tests and referred me to numerous conservative therapies, prior to even mentioning surgery. Even then, he said he would not discuss surgery with me until I got to the point that I could not take care of my daily living. So, go and see a specialist and perhaps all you need is P/T or an injection etc.

Good luck and please keep us updated.
