I know their reasoning behind it...to save money in this ailing economy, but how many fans out there think this will take something away from the racing? Another long season of single file racing, no side by side action, no battles for the lead??? I don't think I can take it.

It has gotten more boring every year since the chase began. The chase is more predictable than the regular season is, which wasn't the intent in the beginning.

I didn't think this season was boring at all, I thought there was a lot of side by side and even 3 and 4 wide racing going on.

I don't think the ban will take anything away from racing, they will still find a way to test, it ain't over.

True, this season started kinda slow and had some low points, but for the most part I thought the racing was great. I'm sure that some teams are going to suffer from the lack of NASCAR-sanctioned testing, but teams still have all their 2008 data to work with too. NASCAR has already stated that there will be no changes to the car, so no new surprises to deal with. I can see the lack of testing being a problem for the incoming rookies - especially Joey Logano - who desperately need the extra seat time, but in general I think it will save several teams from going under all together, so that makes it good for the sport.

....Besides, teams are still free to test at non-sanctioned tracks. I'm sure that some teams will take advantage of that.

I beg to differ with you.It might actually make the racing a little more interesting as it might give the smaller teams somewhat of a chance to catch up to the powerhouses.I know they still have the seven-post rigs, but it is not concrete data. Can't wait to see.

There are to many non-sanctioned tracks for that to happen. With this piece of crap COT I don't think it will make any difference anyway. I'm as disgusted as you.

I think NASCAR needs to stop fixing things! Banning testing isnt going to do any good. Besides its always been the money teams that did all the testing anyways. Let them worry about if they afford it or not!
