In my opinion franchising would help the smaller teams. They would be guaranteed a spot in every race so it would be easier for them to get and keep a sponsor. It would keep teams like the Wood Brothers from being shut out of the sport. It would help keep mega teams from running satellite teams to get around the 4 car rule.

It'd eventually eliminate the single car (probably even 2 car) teams. It would be good for sponsors, but bad for teams.

It would mess everything up even more than it already is! Just leave NASCAR alone. why aren't people just satisfied the way it is?
