nasal air filters ...any good?

I've seen these nasal air filters for sale recently.
Havent found them anywhere locally
but the ones here sound promising:

Has anyone used these or know if they work ?
The concept sounRAB good, but I see that they
aren't widely available, and can only be ordered
from a few small companies. If they were that good
it seems like they would be readily available
in local pharmacies.....
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone that have tried these.
 
I use some called BreathePure from California that are like little sponges that go in my nostrils. They work ok, don't do well on smoke, or on the fungus/mildew smell that comes up when I dig in the dirt. Do pretty good on pollen and dust, though. BUT, no one wants to see me wearing them! They look pretty gross, (like there's something extraordinarily bad coming out my nose!) so I have to use them only when I'm alone.

I ordered a different kind from an allergy place in the UK (they were a hard filter rather than a sponge), but even though they sent them 2-3 times, apparently either Royal Mail messed it up, or they are stuck in customs here in the US and I don't have the foggiest idea of what to do. I'm sure they've already sold them at auction by now.
 
I have heard of smearing a bit of Vaseline inside nasal passages. It helps trap allergens from entering through your nose. Clean and blow area, and repeat the Vaseline.

This is especially helpful if you are going to be over-exposed to dust, pollens and the like.
 
I did finally purchase the BreathePure filters, and was very disappointed
with these. Although the concept is good, the problem is the fit.
They just don't seal well enough to stop all the pollen. Looking in
the mirror with these in place, I can see gaps in various places
which will allow pollen to pass.

I guess everybody's nasal shape is different and these might work
okay for someone who has a perfectly round nasal passage, but
they don't work for me at all. So for now I'm sticking with the white
pollen masks. I found some at Home Depot, that are highly rated,
and have double rubber banRAB in the back. these also allow
a much tighter fit across the bridge of your nose, where most filters
leak.

My main reason for getting the BreathPure filters was for
appearance. They're not so obvious as the white masks.
But if the white masks stop the pollen, who cares what other
people think :-)
