Hi there,
I recently underwent a cervical spinal fusion and was placed with percocet 5/325 mg 12xdaily through my orthopedic surgeon. Before that I was under chronic pain management with my PCP with Norco 10/375 mg 7-9xdaily. I would like to stop the percocet( I don't like them, and frankly I'm done with taking them.) I do have a refill for my Norco from my PCP that I would like to have filled. My ortho post op is on Monday and I would prefer not to wait to ask permission. There has been concern on my PCP's side of drug addiction, understandably with the amount that I have been taking and knowing that my body is physically addicted to the narcotic until I'm weaned in a healthy way and he sent a fax notifying my Ortho of my intake and to confirm the amount in which I take. My Ortho is fully aware as I have been 100% honest and he prescribed the Percocet accordingly.
Now my question. If I call in my Norco refill, ..will my pharmacy notify my Ortho Surgeon? I know it seems silly but I don't want to break any laws.
Thanks so much for any prompt replies.
