Napolean Dynamite

Your right, the first time i saw it i just watched the whole thing with a ??? hanging over my head, and i didnt think it was that funny.

But when i watched it a second time i thought it was hilarious.

Yes, I agree. I saw this with mixed anticipations. I knew it wasn't about much but was very funny. I agree in varying amounts. I was entertained and knew if I watched it again I would enjoy it all over again, but I didn't have time.

I'd probably buy it when it gets cheap, which it undoubtedly will.

I love it. It just meanders from scene to scene in no particular hurry 'til his heroic moment near the end (won't give it away to the uninitiated). It's just him and his extreme nerdiness and his weary cry of 'god' and the more you see it the funnier it is. That bit about Loch Ness cracks me up as well. I got it on DVD and, first time I watched it, didn't even see the reasonably long scene that takes place at the end of the long-as-usual credits, must have been a lot of cinema goers who missed all that (and his brother's terrible song!).

I also have this on DVD and didn't stick around for the credits to finish at the end. I then checked out the special features, to see the making of that end thing and was like "What's this? Some short sketch made for TV promotion or something?". I then, by mistake, one day let it run and then I get to that and am like "Ahh!" LOL. :D

Great film. "Friggin idiots!" LOL.

I thought it was absolute rubbish.

Cant recall laughing once. Only watched it as one of my mates recommended it. I lent it to another mate who only managed 10 minutes before turning it off bored.

Each to their own I suppose!

Well.... I suppose its very subtle humour. Makes a change really, from that farcical toliet humour which is supposedly 'side-splitting' but really just gross out awfulness. Seen in high quantity in teen comedy. *shudder*

I think that was his missus. She'd probably chucked him out due to his obsession with travelling back to '82 in a 'time machine' (bought on ebay) to resume his football career.

Watch out for ligers...

Saw it at the weekend and loved it, played like a live action underground comic book a la Ghost World. Trying to resist the urge to say 'Gosh!' in reply to things!
I thought the MTV Movie AwarRAB Batman Begins spoof cameo was amusing too. Funny that an MTV funded movie should win so many awarRAB...

The woman who appeared at Uncle Rico's camper van was a customer of his when he was selling Tupperware. His probable 'soulmate'.

Anyone else really wanted Lafawnduh the IRC date to be a transexual?

I thought I recognised 'Summer Wheatley' - she's played by Haylie Duff sister of Hilary.

I loved this film - surreal, quirky, observant, even depressing in some parts.

Line of the film for me ( as a UFC fan, and in UFC 53 when Nate Quarry won his match, he quoted this line to Joe Rogan in the post-fight interview.) - Rex: Take a look at what I'm wearing, people. You think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys?

There were a few other UFC references like Kip's 'Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

Hilarious.
