names from address book not showing in SMS

I'm using a N73 purchased in China. It's terrific but names from my address book never show up in SMS messages. I figured maybe it had to do with area codes, so when a message shows up, I would add it again into the address book, but still no luck: next time I would get an SMS message, there would once again be no name.

Any suggestions?

I read a post about an older model Nokia phone having this problem if a number was stored more then once on a phone. Could it be something like that?
 
Trust me the number is in a contact twice somewhere! In nearly 5 years of owning S60 phones that is always the cause. It may not be in the contact you think it is or it could even be in the correct contact twice but somewhere inside your addresses that number is there twice.
