About 2 years ago I read a book that was incredible. It had a green cover and it was part of a series that had 3(?) books. It was about 2 children, a boy and a girl I believe, who went on an adventure. During their adventure they met these "old children" who were like really old people but in the forms of about 11 year old children. The 2 children, who were the heroes/protagonists of the story also ran into a village/city-like grouping of people made up mostly of men who had quill-like dreadlocks in numerous different colors. The leader of this group had rainbow dreads. This group was relatively hospitable to the 2 children and they lived on a flying ship that was huge. It flew across the desert and had large wind-sails, I believe. Somewhere near the end of the books the 2 heroes and the group of people that they were with fought with the "old children" ,I believe, and there was a huge crack in the ground that all the "old children" fell into. Any ideas what this book may be called?
