I'm in the middle of changing my first name. I already went to the SSA and they said about one month (by the end of Feb. 2011), the process will be verified.
However, I'm a college student and I must fill out the FAFSA form by MARCH 1st. The W-2 form I got last week has my old name in it. So I'm not sure whether to file tax and fill out the FAFSA using my old name? What if I submit both forms and the name doesn't match on IRS later on?
Can someone give me some advice? I really appreciate it !
