...demon conjured up? I remember a few brief details of the story. Its apparently set in the far future and a man/boy is trying to choose a research topic or something like that. One of the only topics "left" in this future involves demonology (or demon conjuring). He tries it and is able to conjure one. The demon, as a proof of his supernatural skills, teleports the man's girlfriend who was present on a distant planet. At this point, the man gets angry at the demon because he didn't consider that safe.
I dont recall much of what happened next, but I'm looking to read this story again, so I would like to know the title and author if possible.
