Nail polish on guys wierd?

Okay so i am a 15 year old straight male and i like to wear nail polish, so one of my friends knows (girl) and she is really supportive of this and thinks its awesome! But i want to tell my mom, but i dont know what she would think of this. I really enjoy wearing it and i think its cool and fun. I think letting my mother know about this would make this easier and put less stress on me about her finding out and telling everyone, so if i told her i could make sure she doesnt. And she could even have fun knowing! Just give me your thoughts on what i should do please! And i dont know how this can be gay at all mainly because girls can do absolutly anything guys can, even wear guy clothing, and its fine. But guys cant do anything girls can do. Sociaty is messed up i must say!
