sorry to bring this back up, but if Nokia included the software to use VOIP, and all we have to do is put in a Username and password, how come every site I go to wants me to download their software?
Gizmo looks to still be free, but you cant sign up and get a user name unless you get their app. I dont really want to add another app to my phone if it is built in already/ .

Thanks for any help

You don't have to add gizmo's app to your phone unless you want to use other feature such as IM, etc. If you just want to make calls using voip, then just enter the settings as shown a few posts up using your personal info

thanks, but how do I get a SIP or user ID?
I cant find any kind of 'Free Sign Up' links on these sites. they all indicate you have to download the software to activate the account.

I think gizmo has changed a lot since I registered with them. I would just go ahead and download the software to my PC to get a user name, etc with them. Then manually input what's needed to the SIP settings in the phone. BTW..the instructions noted in a previous post are slightly flawed-in other words it won't work. If you get a user name and pw I can give you the correct input to the SIP profiles to get it to work--why not use voipcheap however instead of gizmo?

I signed up for Voipcheap. I downloaded teh stuff to the pc, and got a username and password. I went back toe the webpage and it was asking questions about payment methods, but it says that calls are free?? i dont get it. Eitherway, i tried to put in the SIP settings from their site, and it said "Registration Failed". What settings did you use, and doyou pay for it?
