N95 sound distortion (via speakers)

Anybody noticed this ?
I get it above 40% in the default player.
Haven't tried any other players yet, but it's a bit disappointing.
I'm hoping it's - a) Not just my phone, b) Fixed in the first FW update.

Distortion doesn't just depend on the speakers, but also the nature of the song itself (low bass rap, or all guitars country), the bitrate the song was encoded, and your equalizer, if you have it turned on. I don't experience any distortion with my mp3's until I reach 100%.

I also get distortion on speakered phone calls above 40%.
Distortion is distortion is distortion.

I have some low res youtube rips and at full volume it can be a bit obnoxious. Other than that, the better the quality the better the sound imo.

If it's on phone calls too then you might have something wrong with your speakers. I'd have the unit replaced if you can. It really shouldn't do that.

Have you tried configurating your equalizer? This could happen on certain songs like Johnny mentioned. I remembered playing a rock song and heard terrible distortion and I thought it was coming from my phone. Luckily it was just the stupid song. Never play "Whispers in the Dark" by Skillet on a N95.

OK, just found the equalizer (couldn't find it before - seems you have to open tracks at least once via the gallery ... I'd always opened them from the browser) and turned down the Default treble ... MUUUUUCH better. No more distortion. Thankyou people.
