N95 Protection

I use this - http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=119823
I have always used martin fields for all my phones. The best screen protector i have found out there.

I tried that thing.

It SUCKS !

BIG time.

What's the point in having a beautiful display and then covering it with an appalling piece of plastic ?

The screen protector it came with isn't bad but Martin fields is very good. If you put it on right the screen protector disappears!

Edit:

Other than the screen condom...i don't use anything else.

Knock on wood..no scratches or anything else yet!

Using a screen protector from Clarivue. Additional peace of mind knowing that I have both a graphite and plum back case kit. I noticed Shieldzone has a fitted kit for the N95. Having previously used Shieldzone for my BlackBerry's, I almost ordered a kit. However, the idea of having the N95 look shiny with the pieces applied made me decide against.

The plastic 3M (Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing) designed to wrap the rotor ends on heliocopters (to keep them from delaminating) is a great, non intrusive protection for all sorts of gadgets; iPods, cell phones, laptops, etc. The folks at ShieldZone have both a screen skin ($12 US) and a full body skin ($25 US) for the N95. Though they offer a lifetime replacement warranty, I find their prices over the top.

Best Skins Ever has the same material, precision cut, though without the lifetime replacement warranty or installation fluid (make your own), but at more reasonable prices. A full body cell phone skin from them is $7 US. I've wrapped three iPods, several cellphones, and a friend's MBP with the stuff. I cannot imagine what you would have to do to the device to warrant replacement of the skin. It is very tough, very clear stuff. Unfortunately, Best Skins Ever is still 2-3 weeks from having an N95 skin ready.

The only problem some folks seem to have with this plastic is the slight 'orange peel' effect the plastic has when held to the light at an acute angle. Looking straight on at the device or at any angle you would when actually using said device renders this a complete non issue.

In another thread, people were warning folks about cases designed to always be 'worn' by the phone; grit, etc. will make its way into the case and end scratching the phone into ruination. These full body wraps are worth their weight in gold here. For instance, I use a Speck case for my iPods. My buddy uses the same case. He didn't know about these skins and though his iPod is well protected form bumps and bruises, it got very scratched up over the course of a year of so. Mine still looks brand new.

FWIW-

For your information, it depends on what brand of screen protector and what kind, there are tons of diff screen protector and i aint a noob when it comes to it.

the screen protector that i'm using doesn't affect the screen quality and brightness of it. It looks like there is no screen protector on it actually but at the same time there is and it really is protecting the screen from dust and it is much easier to wipe and clean with a tiny microfiber cloth

I'd be interested to see THAT.
But I'll tell you how it is for me.
One of the reasons I so detest touchscreens is that focussing on them is a PITA.
Why ?
Because they have so many layers - it really spoils them.
Every extra layer is an extra degree of optical degradation.
I have a hard time visualising a protector that's 'invisible'.

I give my N95 the best protection "extra strong condoms" , just joking. I use the A.R.M.kit screen protectors (made in Japan), have always used them on all my mobile phones, I get them free and they do there job pretty well, and adding the original leather case that I purchased for about USD 16, as mine is the official Hong kong version, it does not come with the case.

the site to the screen protectors is listed below, you may need to emal them first, as the site is not always updated.
