N95 on Voda UK - anyone?

I currently have the N80 and plan to upgrade to the N95, preferably keeping my current provider (Voda UK). I'm just wondering if anyone has already purchased this phone from Voda and can you confirm if the phone has been branded in any way (ie. default graphics removed and replaced with Voda)?

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks for the reply. I was afraid of that! And now that you can't (at least I think) buy a Voda contract through Carphonewarehouse there's no way around it. The only provider that gets good reception where I live is Voda - otherwise I'd switch. Grrrr....

Horrific! And I take it that switching the theme doesn't get rid of the crappy graphics??

When are these companies going to learn that people *hate* their ugly customisation. What's even more ridiculous is that I can't see how this helps them from a marketing angle either... I've never looked at someone else's phone and decided on my carrier based on the graphics! In fact every time I see the horrible Voda live graphics it puts me off completely!

yes u can change the theme and all will be ok, icons will go back to the original nokia icons etc, also u can change the shortcut keys to non voda, its just the voda logo accross the facia that needs to go, also voda have removed the option to make a call via net, no voip options

they did but all they did was a t-mobile logo on battery cover that came off with my thumb nail, and the web app has the we n walk icon.... thats it, no t-mobile theme, no start up logo, nothing

I went ahead and bought the phone on T-Mobile this morning (via Carphone Warehouse) and the phone itself has no branding on the case. The only visible software branding I can see is the 'Web 'n Walk' icon, which I'm not too worried about. Assuming by VOIP you refer to the 'Internet Telephone' options these all still appear to be available though I'm not able to test at present.

I then phoned Voda to talk to them about getting a PAC code for transferring my current number, and of course got the usual grilling about why I didn't want to stay with Voda. I told them I'd have been happy to stay, but:

1. When asked about an upgrade they wanted to charge me ?350!
2. The phone I was allowed to test (for only minutes) in a Voda shop had Voda branding all over it.

His response - they'll now do the upgrade for ?50 while stock lasts, and the branding (software obviously) is all changeable. I could have lived with the Voda logo on the phone if I'd known this before, so I'd say they shot themselves in the foot there by offering a crap upgrade deal to begin with. Of course I don't believe there's any way to cancel the T-Mobile contract now even if I wanted to.

Grrrr.

Yes they have, there is NO icon annimation setting in the menu options on the voda branded n95, also no sip profile settings so that means no calls via wifi, im not sure what voda get out of disabling functions, im glad im not with them anymore
