N95 - How do I know if it's a prototype?

I'm in SE Asia and thinking of buying an N95 here. They've just been released and I'd like to know exactly how to tell if the unit I'm buying is an earlier prototype or not?

In Asia what should the "Made in" say? And is there any other way to know if it's a prototype or not?

it would say prototype in the battery compartment or battery cover but if you're buying BNIB from a Nokia store, i doubt it'll be a prototype?

get yourself an extra battery even if you're not a power user.

Good to know how do you tell if its a Euro version or a APAC version?? is it listed like the prototype??

First giveaway is the keypad. If you see Chinese characters above the 2,3,4,5 keys, then it is APAC.

However, there are soem APAC units without the special characters on those keys.

press *#0000# and check the numbers right after the words "Nokia N95". That will also tell u if its apac or euro

usually on a proto on the label under the battery it will say for model something like model:xx or it will say proto not for resale
