Hi all sorry if this has been mentioned before, im just about to buy my n95 but have been told the maps are free but you pay tp have the gps unit turned on, so even if i stick tomtom on they wont work unless i pay to turn the gps unit on, can anyone confirm this.

Best regards Mark

And that's just from the front page. Seriously, people.

GPS Receiver is already built in the N95, Maps (smart2go) are free but you have to pay for voice guidance navigation. TomTom runs perfectly on the N95 and if you already got the software for the S60 3rd edition then you are good to go, only problem is that you will need a separate bluetooth gps receiver since it doesn't support the receiver built in the n95 yet. TomTom is working on it currently.

For clarity, you can use the built-in GPS without paying. You get map via MapLoader thru Smart2go for free. You download for free maps on the fly, service provider data charges apply. You get mapping and routing for free. You get "follow me" routing for free.

You only have to pay for turn by turn voice guidance.

I hope not! Ricky's one of the good guys. I don't want to see him turn into a (insert-crude-name-here) like me on these boards.
