N95-4 firmware (when)

I am sure that I am not the only one wishing for a update to the N95-4 firmware. I would go without a updated calculator and trade the development and test hours for a firmware that does not shut itself off. Or even ASR would be nice. Just my impatience showing through. Has anyone heard or seen anything? Other N95's are getting some love, maybe we just have to wait our turn.

Because for many of us, the most recent update broke the web browser's ability to save user name and password for pages.

To the OP; Nokia has never released a date when a firmware update would happen except for the N95-3 issue earlier this year when they gave a rough estimate and delievered early.

Relax; your device works right now (for the most part). And when you do get your firmware update, many of us who are -3 users will probably yelp a good bit louder than you

My problem with the N95-4's current firmware is that it sometimes (OK...ALL THE TIME) "forgets" to disconnect from my car. I have a 2007 Camry with factory BT, and while the N95 works excellent with the system, when you get out of the car and it disconnects...it doesn't always COMPLETELY disconnect. I'll get a call and open the slider or hit the call button and I can't hear the other party, but they can hear me...if I go to "Loudspeaker", the call is fine and I can hear them. I have to power cycle to get the earpiece back.

If I turn off BT and don't connect to the car...the N95 works fine...with any other headset, etc.

The E71 does not have this issue...it connects and disconnects just fine.

There always seems to be BT car kit enhancements in the new firmwares, so I'm hoping that new one will address this, so yep, I'm looking forward to an update as well...but the N95-3 users have been hurting longer than I have, so hopefully for them, Nokia releases them in order...N95-1, -2, -3, -4.

P.S. Auto screen rotation and being able to slide the phone closed to end a call would be great as well Nokia

That just proves you don't even read this forum regularly! The problem didn't hit everyone - anecdotally I'd guess 8% of users. But those of us hit have been unable to solve it.

does not work on the -3.

for those with busted browsers, why not switch over to opera mini? or are the -4 nokia browsers supposed to be better than the one in -3 and opera?

i just used opera mini for the first time on my -3 and what a difference it made from the stock nokia browser!

I use both Opera Mini and the internal browser. They do different things. beta.m.yahoo, advanced sites with Microsoft Exchange OWA, web cam sites work better on the stock browser. (Or on Opera Mobile.) Message boards and news sites work better on Mini due to the reformatting and the image compression.

Well now I am seeing reports of V30 being released for the N95-4 so I guess that puts this thread to bed. I knew they would hear me out on this. Haha, yeah right.

There's nothing to update it to, at least right now. Check on http://europe.nokia.com/A4577224 - the current latest is still 20.2.005, the same thing that broke my browser (but improved a lot of other things) months ago.
