So I've had my phone for about a month now but I can't seem to be able to update it...I installed all the software from the cd and hooked up the phone to update...it downloaded the update but when I try to update it, it keeps coming up with an error message. I'm not sure what to do. Maybe restore to factory settings? I really don't want to have to re-install everything, but I guess I could do it if nothing else works.

Also...I can't seem to lock onto any sats. I even went out to the middle of a park, away from all the trees and such, and still nothing happened. I tried Maps and aMAZE. I'm having a hard time getting the GPS to work...and one of the main reasons I bought this phone was to use it for its GPS capabilities.
 
What error message are you receiving when you're trying to update the firmware?

You also need to be patient with the GPS on a first run. It'll take a while to connect the first time.
 
my GPS gets a lock within 10-15 seconds. make sure you have assisted gps enabled. allow a few minutes for the initial lock. you will be quite happy with the gps speed once you get it working.
 
Somtimes you have to try updating it on another computer if it doesn't work on your current one. I have no idea why this is the case, but I've had to go through this a few times myself -
