N93 - Play media files on phone from media server?

Two Legs Bad

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question, can I play the files on my pc on my phone through teh wireless network?

I have connected the homenet sucessfully. I can see all the files and can browse the net through my wireless connection.

When I click play on gallery (viewing media server files) the thing starts playing on teh PC and not on teh phone. Its like having a remote control for the PC!!

Is there a way you can play the files on the phone instead?

Thanks for reading

Im just using the home network option from the gallery. Asks me for a device, I select the Home Media Server (my PC) I can see all the files but when I want to view/play them, they play on the PC not on the phone.

Are you able to play them without downloading to the phone? or am I expecting too much, assuming my phone is like a pc sharing my computers hard drive and being able to play files directly from it.

Many thanks

No, it will it not stream and play directly like you would think. To play a file from the pc to the phone you just copy it and than see if the phone will play it.
Btw you can now use Windows Media player 11 to act as the media server, so need to use the bloated program bundled with the Nokia phones/
