N80 USB connection problems

I just wanted to update my N80 to the newest firmware. When I plugged in my USB cable Windows recognized my phone but after that windows doesn't see it anymore.
I plugged it out and in again, my phone recognized some connection but I can't do anything.
Both Windows and my N80 do not give any connection icon or something like that. So it looks like there is no connection at all.

What can I do?? I already tried to reinstall pc suite and the cable drivers but that doesn't work.

Configuration:
Windows XP SP2
PC Suite (newest version)
N80 with v3 firmware.

Okay, well so far PC Suite works but when I start NSU PC suite says: N80 connection lost and NSU can't find my phone. Starting to get pissed...

NSU:
Unable to find phone

edit
Start PC Suite --> Works phone recognized
Start NSU --> Connection lost (PC Suite)
NSU scanning for phones--> Unable to find phone
Close NSU --> Connected with N80 (pc suite)

pc suite should be closed when running NSU

you may have a dodgy connector on your usb cable too, they are very prone to errors as the pop-port connector isnt particularly solid

Warning, this happened to me right before I bricked my N80.
Somehow I think drivers get messed up, and it will fail during update. If I were you I won't do it. Try to get a clean install (maybe even a windows reformat)
