N80 SMS sending problems on tmobile

Hi all,

I just got an unlocked N80 as a gift, and I'm 90% of the way there. MMS, WAP/Web browsing, modem tethering, SMS reception and phone calls all work, but I get the dreaded "Message not sent" when I try to SMS out.

The Message center seems to be set correct for t-mobile, +12063130004, but still no go. This still happened after a hard reset (*#7380#)

I spent over an hour with 1st, 2nd and 3rd tier support at tmob and got nowhere.

Please help!
 
Having exhausted all avenues, including a new, fresh out of box N80, I found out that a friend's T-Mob SIM worked in the N80.

Since I was using an old circa-1999 Voicestream SIM, I promptly motored to the local T-Mob store, procured a new replacement SIM, and now all is good in the world.
