N80 or the 8525

Which one should I get, I like Nokia (almost a fan boy here, I have a 6682, it's ok, I liked it for a while, then wanted a change). I would like to watch MOVIES, and videos (In all their entirety!!), I take pictures every so often (mostly my better half taking pictures), wifi is a plus for both, big screens are good for me (N80 has a higher resolution, but appears a smaller screen, I don't know if the resolution would be better or not). Music is also a big thing for me on my phone, and it has to be decently fast, not waiting 20 seconds for the gallery to open (my 6682 is so slow now, i dont know what happened...).

So which is it? The N80 or the Cingular 8525? (Price not an object, im buying used, so if someone can tell me what the used prices for them would be, so I can make a fair deal, thanks!)

But what does the 8525 have to offer? I like the fact that I can do anything on a phone (which is why I adore the N95, but too poor to afford it). So can the 8525 do all the basic stuff, play music, watch movies (like The Lord of the Rings or something) in the best possible quality.

My main concern is media (it can play music already, take good videos and pictures, BUT i need this question asked! Can it play full movies at great quality!???), but I do like a biggg screen. Need a few more opinions before I decide. How much is a used N80 worth too?

The N80 plays movies excellently. Volume on the phone is amazing too!

I could not tell you about how much a used one is worth, I purchased mine from www.myworldphone.com. This is my fourth phone I purchased from them, have never had a problem and I would recommend them to anyone looking to purchased a phone at a good price.

Remember that you have to size down the resolution since your watching from a full res to that of the PDA's screen res, so you'd have to convert the videos. Check out sites like Handango for converters. If you plan on getting the N80, SmartMovie is one of the best converters. On the 8525, you can view the video on the Media player, but it's more than likely going to be choppy. So you're still going to have to convert it for it to play smoothely. Also, since you're going to watch videos, the battery drains a bit fast. So either you carry extra batteries, a travel charger, or get an extended battery.

If you want to use your next phone to watch movies specifically, you might as well just get an affordable ultra portable laptop. You can probably get a P3 for like $300 since you stated you can afford a N80 and 8525. Just don't install alot of programs and you should be fine.

overall, id say N80 for you since your major concerns seem to be multimedia and general entertainment

the 8525 is more work oriented.

however, ask yourself this, will you catually use multimedia (especially video) all that much? I remember i was so convinced i wanted video that i traded my mp3 player in for a portable media player, i havent watched videos in months, needless to say i regret it
