N73: when/how officially released in the US?

I am somewhat cost conscious, and want the N73. I know the price will come down when it is officially released in the US. Any idea if this will happen b4 Christmas? It's been on the NokiaUSA website "expected soon" section for quite some time now. And will it be carried by Cingular or T-Mobile? I might even hold my nose and sign a plan to get the price below $250.
 
It will not be carried by anyone.
And wont be released until Feb. 2007 (That what I was told yesterday when I went to Nokia store in NYC)
And price below 250, I dont think so! Maybe in a few years
 
The N73 has Euro/Asia UMTS, which means it will never be carried in the US. Maybe in the future they will make another model of the N73 with NA UMTS, but that could take a while, if ever. Until then, there's the Internet.
 
Why Feb 2007? This is the first Nokia phone that truly makes a separate digital camera obsolete (good for Christmas present). And if no carrier is going to carry it, why can't they just sell right now in US what they are already selling in UK!

I guess I will have to try getting an unlocked N73 from an importer for < $400.
 
Exactly, which is why I was hoping for some event (like a launch) to push it down. If it's only being sold on Nokia website that is usually higher than third parties and not much to look forward to in my opinion, so it looks like I might be slumming on eBay...

but i doubt the phone's price will take a huge dive anytime soon until the release of the n95~
 
It is in the Nokia Store NYC, but sealed in glass case.

It will be out for the US too.. But not on Service Providers..

Like the N70, N80, N91, and the N93! Their out in the US but not on Service Providers.
 
yip it was like that when i went at sept too~

i know i have said it before, but i m glad that it wont be avaliable thru a service provider
 
If you live near a Chinatown or any small phone dealers, you may be able to buy it w/ contract. Last I checked, MobileBee.com has it for $330 w/ contract. I would imagine a local dealer might go as low as $300.

honestly, i don't want this phone released in the U.S. But that's me hahah
 
Thank God.. that will loose the value of the N73 if it was taken by Service Providers here in the US or Canada.

I think the status now should be alright..
 
No look at the 8801.. from $800 to $350 that's a huge melt down! Hehehehe..

Mann!! N73 is rapidly shrinking too.. When I bought mine which was hard to find then I paid $525.. Now its $450 and USED goes $420..

Got rid of mine for $410 for fast sale!! Just needed to get rid of it. To make room for the new units coming. Hehehehe..

That's life.. Phones comes go FAST! Hehehehe
