Hey guys, im from Newyork and i have the n73, and the man on the voice recognition has a british i think accent, any way to change that, he doesnt recognize anything i say lol.
You can't change it. You don't have to train it either. Just make sure you are speaking clearly and that you don't have any weird contact names in your address book. By 'weird' I mean, don't say wuodka, but vodka. Try to stay as phonetically correct as possible and try to use a Brooklyn accent.
Voice recognition on the N73 is probably as good as it gets. Especially considering that you don't have to train it. I avoided this feature on the Moto Vxxx like the plague because you had to save each individual voice entry.
It doesn't like acronyms...it will try to look them up by sound. So, if I say I F R, it really wants to hear "iffer." So, for the nickname, I have to go in and edit it to say something like "eye eff are."
different language packs will change the voice recognition. When I first got my N80, it was asian firmware, and didn't understand a thing i said, and I speak pretty clearly. With the euro pack, I have zero problems.
if you have a bluetoth headset connected you should just have to press the "talk" button. If you don't, on most of the s60 phones, you press and hold the right softkey for a few seconds.
No. the only phones that I know of that have a voice button were the 668x series and I guess now the E50. I freakin miss it, though.
Thanks for checkin the site. I'm going to do alot of work on it today, I think I'm moving it to TypePad, it's just so much easier. Also my laptop died on monday is why I'm a week out of date. Of all weeks for it to die, right? Geez.
How do you get it to select a mobile or home number? I've got both down under my mums entry, and saying "Mum" works fine, but it dials the first entry (her mobile). Saying "mum mobile" or "mum home" comes up with entry not found.
And I don't want to split it between home and mobile entries, kinda makes a joke of having phone book entries that can store mulitple numbers.
that's a really good question. all i know is that if you press "Next" in the short pause after it recognizes your name, you can select from a bunch of close matches. but not the next number in that person's name
Fraid you only get one voice tag per contact.
About the voice recognition I swear that it's changed its accent from Stephen Hawkings to something more like my own sweet Glaswegian. It's very noticable in certain contacts. To start with I had the phone language in english but a phone book full of swedish names which it mostly spelled out really quickly- but 7 months later it has learned all of them. To say I'm impressed would be an understatement.
