Does anybody can confirm that N73 with last firmware is slowing down as you install more applications? The movies in DivX player also play with chopping. Any thoughts why?
Where are you installing the apps, and what memory card are you using? Some of the cheaper brand memory cards have really slow read/write times, which will affect how quickly (or not) the phone can get to the application.
Don't use Divx, it's slow and a pain to convert to. Smartmovie is only $30 (or free if you spend about 10 minutes on google) and I've never had a problem converting or watching movies with it.
The apps are strictly on phone mem. Im using Apacer 1gb mem that is totally screwing my phone up... im planing to exchange it for Kingston (if the retailer that I bought the card from is welling to). Btw, can the capacity of the card be a problem? Lets say 1gb is too much?
I had problems also with apacer 1GB card. Exchange it for smth else, as it indeed fu--s up the phone. Mine , apart from slowing down, had another pleasant thing: if I removed it, it became corrupted and wasnt recognized by the phone anymore. Had to format it for about 7 times untill I sold my n73.
my kingston 2gig is really buggy. but my sandisk the one i took out from my sharp 903 is really really fast. the lesson is sandisk = best, kingston = peice of ****
My N73 has no problem using a 2GB miniSD by Nokia (came with the ME pack). Although I've got to admit that N73 becomes really slow when more apps are installed. T-T
I quit using divx movies on my 6682. They are going to be choppier than smartmovie converts. Oh and if you haven't seen Ghostrider you should, just watched it and I'm converting it right now using Smartmovie converter.
