N73 ME really cheap

Not really, imo, unless you really just want the black.

regular N73s are going for $435 + 18 shipping on Ebay, so you're paying a little under $100 extra for a 2GB memory card (Which can be found easily for under $50) and a black housing. You can get the firmware for free.

Pardon my ignorance, but is hi-mobile.net a reputable seller? They are charging $495.97 + shipping for a brand new N73 Music Edition. Their price (excluding shipping) beats all eBay listings that are currently up. Should I buy now or should I wait?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure if this is confirmed or not but Darla had mentioned that the N73s audio quality was on par with the N91's and said comparing the 2 (N73 and N73me) there was a definite difference. Rcaddens correct in everything he's saying unless you really want to use it as your "music" device then perhaps getting the ME is wise for the sound quality alone. Personally, I think there is too much emphasis on sound quality...I was satisfied with my original n-gage and dont need much more than that. I'm only looking forward to the N95 as a possible "music phone" as it finally rids itself of the the fn pop port bs Nokia loves to give us. As far as the "is it a good deal" question....check on ebay, look at various sellers on-line and compare the prices. It shouldnt be too difficult to figure out who has the lowest price. A better question may be whether or not a particular seller is known to be reliable and he's selling it for X amount of $.

I've never dealt with them but their other handsets seem to be appropriately priced and they are verified by geo trust (whatever the hell that means but the link connects to the geo trust site) It seems like a pretty good deal if the sound quality is better and it comes with the 2gigs. Search hofo for hi-mobile.net opinions and you should find your answer.

I bought my N73 from Hi-Mobile.net, I'd highly suggest them.

As for Music Edition, you can easily use Nokia's own Software Updater to do it yourself. I did and it's awesome.

Yes, Darla mentioned that the sound quality was different, but I have heard other reports that it's the same hardware. To me, I could care less. I mean, I thought the regular sound quality is good either way. I mean, I'm not running a disco off the thing, if anything I'm listening to it while walking around a store or something. Audio quality isn't top priority for that environment.

i read his post and al he talked about was how i can save money gettin a regular n73 and getting a 2gig and upgrading the fw, but i want to know about the me. I know that i can save money doing that, but i want a me so i want to compare prices.

If you take a look at everything that comes with either the regular N73 or the Music Edition, the ME is your basic easier package.

If you try to clone the ME N73 on a regular N73, you'll probably spend MORE than the ME N73 is worth originally, and you still won't have the improved audio quality people have mentioned. The black housing, audio adapter, and 2gb card do a pretty good job of justifying the price. But, as people have said, you can do without the black housing and update the firmware yourself for less.

If the housing and sound quality are important to you, it seems the added $100 would be worth it, if not only for the convenience factor of having all those accessories in the same box.

I'd say given the "extras" that come in the pack, a $100 difference is fair. That pays for the memory card, the headset adapter, and the housing. The firmware doesn't matter cause you can put ME firmware on a non-ME handset.

If it's more than $100, though, I'd pass.
