i have read psots about N73 housing removal.. even this cat's..http://www.adam.com.au/digisnacks/Nokia%20N73%20Housing%20Removal.htm
so i am wondering to anyone who actually did this; how difficult is it? reading Adam's instructions, it seems like this a major pain in the @$$...!!!
i ran across this ebay item and even though it says OEM, i wonder if it is?? and there are a lot of parts to do this..
OEM Cover/Fascia/Housing ALL BLACK +tool for Nokia N73
i'm pretty capable of these kinds of repairs,, but surely don't want to brick my $500 investment trying to do so..
any thoughts, experiences? thanks

A few people have(see link) and new housing do make creaks go away but im sure with time the creaks are sure to return. Since in all cases its housing wear and tear

i replaced mine only yesterday, had the plum/silver but changed to the red/white

how i did it (sorry no pics)

1) removing front fascia, need 2 credit cards, starting from the bottom left insert the first credit card (just above miniSD) use credit card to lift the corner up, use 2nd credit card and slide it along the side of the phone and the cover will unclip, repeat the process for the right handside, once both sides are unclipped if you lift the fascia from the bottom the top 2 clips will release.

2) removing the inner body, T6 screwdriver, undo the 6 screws, now the tricky part, there is 1 final screw but its located under the screen, to remove the screen you need to remove the black metal frame holding it in place, please be careful here because it would be so easy to crack the screen if you rush into it, its held in place in 4 positions, 2 left handside top and bottom of screen and two on the right handside top and bottom,( do not attempt to release using what look like clips which are white and more central) i used a very small screwdriver to unclip them (you should only need to unclip one side and the frame should come away (please be careful) now the screen will be free but care is needed again because its connected by a ribbon, screw is located central behind the screen.

3) removing inner body, with the screen back in place but without metal frame, this is how i done it you might want to remove the screen altogether.next i held the phone with both hands (finger tips) thumbs on the outer casing, about half way up, pull the casing apart gently then use 2 fingers under the phone ( where the battery sits) to ease the inner body out, lift the top out first and the bottom will follow (remember the screen is loose if you didnt remove it fully).

4) last piece, located inside the back of the phone where the camera is located is a plastic block, i removed this by inserting a very small scredriver in the 2 holes located left and right of where the battery connects.

p.s i removed the miniSD cover before i attempted this because it was a pain in the arse but i assume it will come out with the inner body unless someone knows otherwise.

p.p.s im by no means an expert in these things and so would urge caution to anyone attempting it the way i did it, im sure there are more qualified people here who would know an easier way (if there is such a thing)

infact it would be a miracle if anybody understands this..

housing from nokia shop on ebay express, does not come with keypad but they do sell them,

took me about an hour as i didnt want to rush it.

p.s they will fit it for you, free fitting but the phone will obviously have to send to them.
