[N73] Does Nokia even make a deskstand for this phone?

It seems ridiculous but I can't find one. You'd assume that upon design, one of the use cases for a 'smartphone' would be a way to keep it propped up during the day.

that's so stupid on their part.

Anyone can point me to a particular stand that I can just plop my phone in and it would USB connect and charge immediately -- instead of me having to connect the two wires every time?

I agree that it's stupid but they haven't sold stands for phones in a long long time. The 880x is the only recent phone I can think of that comes with a stand.

SE sells them for their phones (and it works for all of their phones too from the lowly handsets to the smartphones) That's why my expecations were that it would be there.

for what it's worth, it's even stupider (IMO) that this is a camera phone with a very high end lens on it, and yet it's impossible to stand on its own, from any side. They're all angled.

Not sure this is what you need, but Nokia has just-released Nokia DT-13 stand seen here:
It is also on top of that compatible with: Nokia N70, N71, N73, N80, N90, N91, N92, N93, 6280, 6680 and other similar sized devices.

Also visit the accesory page, many items and add-ons that you might not think of: http://europe.nokia.com/A4156071

Hope that helps

I saw that but it looks like just a holder. What I's like is something with prongs so that when I put the phone in, it plugs into the power and into the sync plugs.

Like this one from SE: where the phone actually connects and charges when I 'drop' it in the cradle.

so, the consensus is that there is nothing Nokia or 3rd party that would cradle my N73? Not a stand where I'd still have to plug in the wires every time but a stand/cradle that would have the connections builtin?

they have some charging stands on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-TWIN-DESKTOP-CHARGER-STAND-For-Nokia-N73-UK_W0QQitemZ110108674765QQcategoryZ20368QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItem as for usb syncing.... just use bluetooth. it's the future.
