N73 and memory card slot

The door to the memory card slot for my N73-1 (made in Finland) only comes straight out a little more than 1 cm and does not rotate. It's somewhat hard to remove the memory card this way and I'm worried it will break after awhile. The demo on nokia.com support shows it to come out much more that and to be flexible. Adding to the confusion, the german quick start guide that comes with the phone shows to the door to rotate.

Anyone else have this situation with their memory card slot door? Do I have defect or is the memory card slot door that different on different batches of phones?
 
Yes mine is the same but in the diagram it shows it opening by folding it to the side well mine will only pull out straight and like you said it makes it quite akward to get the memory card in and out.
