N72: Does not compute...

I got the cable. I got the phone. But the computer doesn't read any when I connected them. Nothing shows up.

And oh, here's another dumb thing: my manual is not even in English! It's like in German or Swedish or something... I'm so frustrated with this phone.

Install PC Suite from Nokia's website and follow the instructions for how to connect your N72 for the first time.

what are u trying to do? connect it thru pc suite or to NSU where u want to update the fw?

I've downloaded the PC Suite with the CDRom that came with the phone. Everything is good but it couldnt connect the phone. I got the cable into the computer and the phone attached to the cable but it just wouldnt read. It should say "new hardware detected" or whatnot but it just wouldnt read the N72.

I want to be able to transfer MP3s and pictures to my phone, but I cant do that now since the computer cant detect the phone.

Shouldnt it be easier to transfer it with the cable? They provided the cable, the computer should be able to detect the phone. And it's not doing so, hence, i'm aggrevated... I'm beginning to think it's the computer that's messed up.

I'm almost positive it's the computer that's messed up. Are you using the "Get Connected!" button in the lower right hand corner of PC Suite? That should help you. It's also important to make sure you're running Windows XP. . .which I normally wouldn't even bother asking, but it certainly would explain a lot of things. . .?
