Mystery Spots

Hey guys,

Um... I can be a bit of a worrisome kinda person sometimes and I may be overreacting about this one but this morning.. I woke up and I was in the bathroom after a shower and whilst looking in the mirror I stretched and shockingly I noticed about 7 to 10 red spots sort of like pimples but just red coming from my arm pit.

Some going up to my arm, the others going down the side of my torso.

They're not itchy and they're not sore.

I literally woke up with them, I did not have them yesterday and I haven't changed my deodorant in about.. a year. I've been using the same stick deodorant the whole time.

Anybody got any ideas... as you can imagine, my head is like ????

My husband gets these often on his back but sometimes around his arm pits. He tends to get heat rash that does not become apparent until the next morning after he has been sweating. Did you do any physical activity yesterday or last night that may have caused a sweat reaction to the shirt you had on?

Try some hydrocortizone cream on it and see if it gets better.

Keep us posted!

Hey,

Well I'm going out to buy some hydrocortizone cream today.

I tried putting some of my sigmacort cream on it, but it's a steriod based cream, so it made the spots that were there better but then... the day after I got a few more this time streaming down to my side and one one my belly, I got told once that a steriodal based cream will make some skin conditions worse.

They continue to not be sore or itchy so I guess that's a good sign.

Is there... anything else that could be causing this? Or is it not beneficial to be considering worst case senarios at the moment..

Thanks again :)

There are a couple of things you can investigate.

Have you been on any new internal medications (prescription or over the counter)? Side effects of some are rash.

Have you changed laundry detergent, dryer sheets, fabric softener, body wash, soap, body spray or deodorant? If you are using something new, there is the possibility of an allergic reaction.

If you cannot tie your rash to any of these and it does not get better after a week on the hydrocortizone cream, I would say it is time to see the doctor. In January I had a rash on my ankle that took prescription strength hydrocortizone to get rid of. Husband's heat rashes tend to take three or four days to go away.

Keep us posted.
